Who is LMU Consulting Group?

LMU Consulting Group LLC is a tax-resolution firm. We represent individuals and businesses before the IRS and state taxing authorities when they owe back taxes, face collection action such as a lien or levy, or need to get back into compliance.

The firm was co-founded by three Enrolled Agents, one of whom is also an attorney. They work directly with IRS Revenue Officers, Appeals Officers, and state collection staff on our clients' behalf, so you don't have to face the IRS alone.

Why experience matters

Tax resolution runs on deadlines, forms, and IRS collection rules. Situations that seem unusual to most taxpayers are routine for our team, and we complete training every year to stay current with IRS rules and procedures.

Our credentials

What our credentials mean for your case:

Enrolled Agent (EA)

Enrolled Agents are federally authorized tax practitioners who can represent taxpayers before all levels of the IRS on collection, audit, and appeals matters. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards.

Professional memberships

Our Enrolled Agents belong to the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). Stephen Uhl is also a member of the Council of State Enrolled Agents (CoSEA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and has been published in EA Journal.

How we work

1. Review and verify. With your authorization (IRS Form 2848), we pull your IRS transcripts and confirm balances, notices issued, unfiled years, and collection deadlines.

2. Plan and protect. We explain your options in plain English. If collection action is underway, we contact the IRS to pursue a hold or release.

3. Resolve and monitor. We negotiate the resolution that fits your finances and help you stay in compliance afterward.

The IRS makes the final decision on every case, so we don't promise specific outcomes. We do explain your realistic options before you commit.
